My final Prototype from last semester was a created using the foundation of the dashboard which I created out of foam core, and adding magnetic knobs that could be dragged around to find the most comfortable position. I kept it to three knobs to explore what a potentially reduced interface could look and feel like.
Strongest Outcome: Making something as simple as this to start from raised a lot of good questions, such as ergonomic value, personalization, and reduction and minimal approaches.
Weakest Outcome: In contrast I wasn't really able to get feedback on what each knob would do, although I could speculate, I need to pull the Arduino and start testing simple value changes.
Next Steps: I think this actually funneled down a point of view for me quickly as to where I want to focus my attention, so my next prototypes will focus on mapping behaviors to controllers, a controller, and a GUI.
Things I Haven't Explored: Passenger relationships, content, outside data, feedback.
Over Focused UX: The Dashboard, Center Counsel.
Under Focused UX: The Steering Wheel, The Windshield, Currently Non-Interactive Car Space.
